Accountability Friday
Today is Accountability Friday. (I changed the name since we no longer have a blog entry on Saturdays :-). Thanks to all of you Musers who sent in your information. Congratulations and keep up the good work! :-)
VIE HERLOCKER
November Achievements
1. I have an article published in Church Libraries, Fall Quarter.
2. My ghost-written story, "I Walk By Faith," written for Chris Harvey, is included in book ten, Miracles of Forgiveness, of Guideposts new series on miracles. I told God years ago that getting a by-line was not important to me as long as I was writing for Him! Chris got the "big by-line" in the contents and under the story title, but I was pleasantly surprised to find my name mentioned as the ghostwriter on the acknowledgement page...in about 2-point print! I had to chuckle! This story was written 7 years ago, and has finally seen the printed page. PTL!
3. I have my webpage active, but don't know how to change things on it! (It can be accessed at www.violetwrites.com or www.cornerstone-ink.com )
4. I will be turning in the final draft of the book I'm co-writing with a motivational speaker on November 30. I am having a hard time letting go...I want to proof, change, and edit again and again, but I have to let it go now.
5. I joined my co-writer at his last motivational seminar for school staff, and did a small part of the presentation.
6. I read 3 Karen Kingsbury books for pleasure!
December Goals
1. Learn how to edit my webpage.
2. Read a book on copywriting.
3. Finish a project that is long overdue.
4. Meet with another writer to pray about starting a local Christian writers' group. (Hope to launch this in January or February.)
5. And most important, enjoy the celebration of Christ's birth and the love of my family and friends.
SKYE CAITLIN
I have not written a word since September: three deaths in six week was too much for me and my family, and everyone else I know has lost a loved one or sustained an injury or illness or loss of a job. . . . I have many stories in my head. I hope to begin compiling things: memoirs, continue with a suspense novel, and hopefully record my feelings about my multiple losses. It is meager, but an feeble attempt in hope.
PAM HALTER
November Achievements I'm still waiting to hear from an agent on my middle grade fantasy. I finished the manuscript in October, let it rest a couple of weeks and read through it in November. I found and fixed several things and now I'm hoping and praying the agent will ask for it. She has the first three chapters.
December Goals
I'll be participating in a book signing at the Amazing Grace Resource Center in Mullica Hill, NJ on Sat. Dec. 8th. See my website for a link to the store. www/pamhalter.info (click on NEWS.) For the rest of the month, I'm taking some time off writing to sew quilts, bake cookies and prepare for the Christmas holidays. I entered the Writer's Digest contest for Short, Short Stories with something I wrote for Mary Ann's Try-Out Tuesdays back in the spring. I'll keep you posted, although it won't be for a while yet.
