Christmas Limerick Contest

December 21, 2007

Thanks to all of our Musers who participated in our first annual Christmas Limerick Contest. The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve, so tune in then. Meanwhile, enjoy the wonderful literary creations of our fellow Musers Who Matter! :)

SHARON BRANI
What can I give to my Savior?
What can I give to my King?
I'll give Him my best
And He'll do the rest
Yes, that makes my writer's heart sing!

PAM HALTER
We put up the lights and the tree,
The eggnog is topped with whipped cream.
Our hearts fill with mirth,
it's Jesus's birth.
He came to save you and save me!

VIOLET HERLOCKER
When Happy Holidays! is our greeting,
Who are we really mistreating?
We're politically correct
To those of all sects--
But Christ is the One we're deleting.

FRAN PASCH
There once was a babe in a manger,
To some He was only a stranger,
But for those who were lost
He paid a great cost
So now they’re no longer in danger.

The following two limericks are not eligible for the contest, but we had fun writing them:

LIA DIORIO
I think of a snowflake so white
Appearing one star-studded night.
It sailed through the sky
Landing right on my eye,
Then I blinked and it vanished from sight.

MARYANN DIORIO
An earthquake occurred Christmas morn,
When Jesus our Savior was born.
Invading the earth,
Through virginal birth,
He rescued creation forlorn.

Thanks to all of you who participated in our contest. I trust you had fun! And don't forget to check back Christmas Eve for the announcement of our grand winner!

Merry Christmas to all of my wonderful Musers Who Matter!

Love and Blessings,

MaryAnn
