Standing Fast

March 19, 2008

Have you been experiencing increased testing lately? It seems as though I'm hearing more and more from the Body of Christ regarding the increased frequency and intensity of trials.

Like labor pains, the contractions (trials) are, I believe, getting us ready for the birth of God's Kingdom in the earth. So what are we to do?

Well, if you've given birth to a child, you know that you muster up your inner strength, grit your teeth, and, taking deep breaths, you push. In the spirit realm, the equivalent is to draw on the strength of Christ within us, stand fast on His Word, and resist (push against) the enemy with the Sword of the Spirit, the life within us.

If you are facing trials today, you are not alone. God's Word tells us that no temptation comes against us that has not at one time come against everyone else in the history of mankind (I Corinthians 10:13). So don't allow yourself to be discouraged. We are all in this writing thing--and life thing--together. Let's draw on one another's support and prayers.

If you are facing a difficult time of testing, please let us know so that we can stand with you in prayer.

And that's my 'musing that matters" for today. What's yours? :)

Blessings,

MaryAnn

P.S. There will be no "musing that matters" on Good Friday.

Oh MaryAnn - - what a wonderful, meaningful Musing today!! I'm saving this to refer back to it when needed (I always need reminders!). Thank you for all your wisdom you share, and have a blessed Easter. In Him, Patti

MaryAnn; I am experiencing this in all aspects and areas of my life; internally, externally, work related, appliances breaking, car problems, computer problems, and even health problems. I completely undertand what you are saying in this wonderful musing, today, but discouragement has become an enourmous problem, and coping with all of the above is draining me of energy and plans to move forward with writing. The smallest of tasks have presented enormous trials. I plod onward and pray all the time, but I take two steps forward and something drags me back ten. I am also thinking positive thoughts, so the attacks have been prominent.

You're right on in your perceptions about believers and increased trials, MaryAnn. I can't believe the physical problems my sister and father are going through and some of the things my 20-year-old nephew has pulled in recent days that have worsened his mother's depression. Sometimes I just wish the Lord would return and get us out of all this. I feel for you, Skye. Prayer has helped and staying in the Word, but a Christian therapist has helped me tremendously over the past two years. God has really used her to keep my thoughts balanced and to know when Satan is taking advantage of the situation. It's good to be reminded that we're all in this together and that what Jesus said is so true: "In this world you will have trouble. But cheer up -- I have overcome the world."

Right now, I'm riding high on Mt. Hermon. I'll have a full report later. But I know just what you're saying, Mary Ann. Truly, we are moving into the last times. It's exciting and scary.

Maranatha!!
