Blueberry One-Liners
I live about 30 minutes away from the Blueberry capital of the world: Hammonton, New Jersey. In fact, two of my close friends--a husband and wife team--are blueberry farmers in that historic little town.
Blueberries are rich in anti-oxidants that, among other things, contribute to brain health. Although small in size, they are big in nutritional value.
Like a single blueberry, a single line of writing can pack a powerful punch. Take a quote like this, for example: "As a man thinks, so is he." Only one line, but oh, so much wisdom!
One-liners also fare well in comedy. In fact, they are the heart of laugh-provokers. A single line--called the punch line--can make or break the humor.
Fillers are often comprised of only one line. While it may seem that one-liners are easy to write, they can often be the most difficult type of writing.
Why not try your hand today at writing a serious or funny one-liner and share it with the rest of us. Then send it off to a magazine.
One line can go a long way to making a reader's day. Hey, that may be a one-liner right there. :)
And that's my "musing that matters" for today. What's yours? :)
Blessings,
MaryAnn

Unfortunately my husband is still smoking( Please pray he will stop) and couldn't wait tget cigarettes one evening.
We wer out with my son Plinky and asked him to go in the store so he wouldn't have to climb out the back of the car.
Plinky asked, "Do you want light?" Clever me answered,"No he can light them himself." I thought that I was so funny I am my best audience.
Good Morning, MaryAnn....
After I got saved, I wrote a note to our pastor telling him how much I enjoyed his sermons and included the following line . He surprised me by reading it to the congregation: "I used to go to church because I had to, now I go to church because I want to." Since then we have changed churches, but I still feel the same way. I never look at the clock and often wish our pastor would continue speaking. Thanks for reminding me of this one-liner. I think I will try some more.
Maryann and all, I am just back from a ladies conference and plan to be home for almost a month this time before another trip so I can be active on this loop more. In March I finished a course by Margie Lawson. She calls these one liners SAPs for Short and Powerful! Here's a serious one my hubby came up with one night while we were walking. "Death grows the soul."
One short and powerful one liner that my father reminded me of frequently is "Choice is a responsibility, not a privilege."
Blessings,
Sue
A women's Bible study that I attended was focusing on discipline. Our book asked the question, "When you think of discipline, what comes to mind?" I responded with, "Discipline provides the structure that produces positive results." I'm sure that came from the Lord; my thoughts aren't usually that deep!

My favorite one liner is on my key chain. It's from Star Wars wise character, Yoda.
"Do or do not ... there is no try."
The one liner I've used before is something I told my daughter: "If you don't dream big, nothing big will happen to you."
